Automatic feeding machines:
This calf milk replacer product has been designed for use in automatic milk feeding machines. Mixing temperatures should be set between 104-107°F. Equalizer recommended feeding program
v A scale provides the best precision for weighing calf milk replacer powder.
v Free choice water should be offered at all times.
v High quality colostrum or colostrum replacer should be fed to all newborn calves, 3-4 quarts within 6 hours for optimal defense against environmental pathogens.
v Clean and rinse ALL feeding utensils and equipment after each feeding: rinse in lukewarm water, wash with a detergent in hot (180°F) water, rinse with clean water (ideally a weak, 5-10%, bleach solution) and dry thoroughly with a clean towel.
v During extreme conditions (cold or wind), offer an extra feeding of calf milk replacer per day.
v A good quality starter ration is an essential component to a calf nutrition program necessary for rumen development and transition from a milk diet. Offer fresh amounts each day with free choice water; when calves are consuming 2-3lbs/day for several days this can be used as an indicator that they are ready to wean.

2-step program: Feeding an all milk protein calf milk replacer such as High Performance or Excel for the first 2-3 weeks and then transitioning to VG can improve performance through a calf’s innate ability to digest milk proteins more efficiently the first 2-3 weeks.
